Our high school storytellers have been busy lately! Bobby and Caroline’s Storytelling class teamed up with Vanessa’s Classic lit students for an exciting trip to the University of Arizona’s Poetry Center where they read zines, fell in love with an old timey typewriter, and learned how to write a collaborative “quilted poem” as a group.

This week the Storytelling students celebrated the changing of the seasons by writing nature-inspired poetry. The storytellers had this to say about their experience using the outdoors as their classroom:
“I may be a dirty mess, but I am a happy, dirty mess.” -Reese

“I feel accomplished.” -Matthew

Up next, the students are preparing portfolios of their creative writing to share with their parents at January conferences!
