This week, Wild at Heart came to the Kino campus to relocate three screech owls on our property. Before they hung the habitats, they were able to show our students the owls and taught them all about screech owls. Did you know that screech owls have 14 neck vertebrae? That’s double the number that humans have!
A huge thank you to Skid, our Primary and Mid-Level Science teacher, for working with Wild at Heart to make this happen for our students! He’s spent the past few months volunteering with Wild at Heart and organizing this event. We hope that the screech owls will love their new homes at Kino!
