In one of their weekly summaries, junior high students were asked, "Why do you think it is important to participate in homeroom?" Here are some of the answers:

Sometimes there can be announcements and activities.

To lend the homeroom teacher a hand.

Cleaning the homeroom.

Helping the "lit-luns."

It's more fun when everyone participates.

It is good to tell people what you're going to do and how your day went.

It is good to make friends with the people in your homeroom.

You can learn about each other.

You learn social skills.

If you don't, you spoil the fun for everyone.

It is bonding.

To get organized and collect your thoughts.

Our homeroom is like our family.

To feel part of the community.

To solve problems.

At the moment it is good because we are working on stuff.

To be a role model for younger kids.
